More Fun

Teamwork DOES make the dream work. We do most things together – trail rides, clinics, and even Sunday dinner! Our training program includes a weekly trail ride and a fun day in the jump field with poles and cavalettis.

The change in scenery and activity is good for both horses and riders, and while it’s still training, it’s a fun way to break up the repetitiveness of the dressage arena.

You want to be the best dressage rider you can be so that your horse has a partner he can rely on.

We use a weekly training plan that develops your horse's abilities and can be adapted for any level so that you don’t have to guess how to ride your horse for the best results.

You’ll have experienced instruction and receive a well-rounded education and horsemanship skills so that you never feel like you’re only learning how to ride a test.

We’ll meet to create your goals so that you always know what path you are on and if you feel you’re not making progress, we’ll make changes!

We’re a group that loves our horses and enjoys spending time with them and each other. It’s one place you’re likely to never feel alone.

Better Training – Better Results

JKD Approach Gives You the Tools and Support You Need to Love the Journey.

You’ll feel confident in your training with a weekly plan that is set in its format but also allows flexibility for the level and experience you’re riding.

We provide weekly plans, goal setting, and experienced instruction and coaching to set you and your horse up for success.

Your progress is as individual as your goals and we allow you to progress at your own rate.

We know you love your horse and we will too – it doesn’t matter the breed, size, or movement – we can improve your horse’s natural abilities.

You’ll find cross-training days a great way to try new things with your horse, improve your riding skills, and have fun while learning.

You’ll understand what it takes to maintain your horse to peak condition, how to prepare for shows, and other horsemanship skills necessary for your horse’s success.

Working hard on your training and spending time with your horse, you’ll enjoy the journey together that much more. You may find that you love every single day even more than the goal itself.

I can guide you on this journey to a more rewarding relationship with your horse.

I’m Jodie Kelly, FEI competitor and trainer, and I’m joined by a team of professionals that can help you live your dream.

My life with horses started young and I’ve been fortunate to have a number of early introductions and achievements that have molded my career.

At the age of 12, I’d already started spending some of my summer months training in Holland with Toine Hoefs and Anky van Grunsven. I continued every summer until I was 18 and Toine started coming to the states more frequently. Today I still train with Toine, but also Anne Gribbons.

What Makes Jodie Kelly Dressage Different?

Goal Oriented

We want you to be successful in whatever way that looks like to you! We have yearly goal-planning meetings to discuss show plans (if that’s your path) or your training expectations.

Horses First

Our horse's mental and physical well-being is at the forefront of all that we do. Our training method creates strong, healthy horses and happily works for you year after year.

Team Players

We are a team and we recognize that it takes everyone to make the magic happen. Whether you’re an owner, rider, working student, assistant trainer, barn help, or groom – we do everything together with respect for each other.

Family Focus

If you are a part of Jodie Kelly Dressage, YOU ARE FAMILY. We can’t stress this enough. We are the same at home as we are at shows. You’re invited – to trail day, clinics, and Sunday dinner too - we want you there.

Here’s how it works:

Interested in learning how we can work together?

  • Meet and discuss your goals for you and your horse
  • Ride each day’s lesson in the weekly plan
Each lesson is designed for a specific purpose, for example, Monday is a stretch day, since the horses are off on Sundays. This prepares them for a training day on Tuesday, which focuses on adjustability.
  • Build strength and genuine connection (or throughness) with each ride
  • Continue riding the weekly plan with your goals in mind
  • See improvement. Assess your progress
  • Start achieving your dreams with the horse you love!
  • REPEAT!
